Recently, I posted why giving free auto insurance quotes is a great way to grow business. Today I want to take that idea a step further and talk a little bit about how to make those quotes stand out among the rest.

Auto insurance quotes are everywhere, they are free and most likely if you did not use inbound customer calling, you are not the only insurer the client has contacted. Since you know you have competition, use it to figure out a way to make your quote seen, heard and ultimately the one chosen.

Dale Carnegie once said, “a person’s name is to him or her the sweetest and most important sound in any language.”  This is an easy way to beginning making your insurance quote stand out. Use the client’s name in the beginning of the email or phone call. People love to hear/see their names. It makes it more personal and shows that extra time was taken. Joyce E. A. Russel of the Washington Post wrote, “Why is it so important to use people’s names? A person’s name is the greatest connection to their own identity and individuality. Some might say it is the most important word in the world to that person. It is the one way we can easily get someone’s attention. It is a sign of courtesy and a way of recognizing them….It makes a positive and lasting impression on us.” A positive and lasting impression, what more can you hope from an insurance quote? After all you are trying to build a relationship based on trust with your customer.

In today’s age of big box companies and the ability to hide behind the internet, it’s hard for the little guy to get ahead and for the customer to know who is really handling their insurance needs. A way to beat this when trying to make your auto insurance quote stand out is, show you are a real person. Customers want to know who they are talking to, they like to put a face to a name. By adding a picture of you and even your staff to their quote will let them see there are actual people who will be taking care of their insurance needs. Insurancesplash.com recommends, if you are really looking to stand out, try not to use the standard “say cheese” office picture. Add some character, do something funny or original to show your staff has personality and your agency will be fun to do business with. People like to work with people, show them who you are and why they will want to work with you.

When thinking of ways to make your auto insurance quote standout, view it like you are marketing to the client. When you send that initial email with the quote, hit them with your best, most powerful, “open me first” email marketing headline. I have a post all about writing marketing email headlines for insurance, and these ideas are just as useful when you send your insurance quote emails. Check out the post and let us know what you think.

Just a few ideas on how to get your auto insurance quote out there. Remember the key is to be bold, be true to your agency and who you are, and try to think outside the insurance marketing box.
